Week Nine EOC : Impacting Photograph

For the past decade or so, there have been many issues that we people have been faced with. The war in Iraq and the horrible economy are two of the most impacting events that have allowed photographers to capture moments in time that are heart wrenching. One of the more recent emotional photographs I have seen is the combination of photographs taken of the family members of the poor soldiers who died over seas. These soldiers risk their lives against things they have never seen before like Iraqi men and children blowing themselves up in the name of their God. There is no amount of training that could have prepared them for such events and a lot of soldiers died. The families of the soldiers then have to cope with the loss of their grandfather, father, brother, son, husband, cousin, etc.
The photograph I chose as an example of a heart wrenching shot of a woman crying over her fiancĂ©’s grave. I picked out this photo because unseen emotion of the woman lying on the grave makes the viewer imagine how torn up she is about her fiancĂ©’s death. It is simply terrible that a woman in her youth would have to go through such a traumatic event, as well as her husband over seas had to. People have to deal with horrible things everyday and photographers happened to be there and capture the moment a good majority of the time. If I were a Photojournalist I would find it hard to have to watch these people suffer everyday and take a photograph of it all as it unfolds.
